This course is part of the W3Cx training program, developed by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) in cooperation by the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education. It implements the W3C Curricula on Web Accessibility, and is designed for anyone interested in digital accessibility. It is suitable for technical or non-technical audiences including:

During this course, you will learn:

  • What is Web Accessibility, its scope and definition of web accessibility through real stories of people with disabilities and their interaction in the digital world
  • People and Digital Technology, or how people with different types of disabilities use various assistive technologies and adaptive strategies to interact on the Web
  • Business Case and Benefits, an introduction to the organizational business case for web accessibility, and to the broader benefits for everyone, with or without disability
  • Principles, Standards, and Checks: discover the international standards from W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and how to do your first checks of web accessibility
  • Getting Started with Accessibility: introduction to integrating accessibility into your design and development processes, and tips to getting started with accessibility right away
